Low-Emission Combustion System
The rotary kiln is equipped with a multi-channel burner designed for optimized combustion with low NOx formation. High-Efficiency Bag Filter Dust Collection
The entire production line — including the preheater, kiln exhaust, cooler, and all material transfer points — is served by a high-efficiency pulse-jet bag filter system designed for exhaust gas temperatures up to 250 °C. The system achieves particulate emissions well below 30 mg/Nm³ at the stack, meeting both Philippine Clean Air Act requirements and international best-practice benchmarks.
Waste Heat Utilization
Hot exhaust gas from the rotary kiln is first routed through the vertical preheater, where it preheats the limestone feed to approximately 900 °C before entering the kiln. This heat exchange process reduces the exhaust gas temperature exiting the preheater to approximately 250 °C, recovering a significant portion of the thermal energy and lowering overall fuel consumption. The specific heat consumption of the system is guaranteed at ≤ 850 kcal/kg of quicklime — substantially lower than traditional shaft kiln designs.
Enclosed Material Handling
All material transfer points — from limestone feed hoppers through the preheater, kiln, cooler, and finished product storage — are fully enclosed with dust-tight chutes and connected to the centralized bag filter system. This design eliminates fugitive dust emissions at the plant site, protecting both the workforce and the surrounding community.
Water Conservation
The cooler and kiln seal systems use closed-loop water circulation where applicable, minimizing freshwater consumption. Process water is recirculated through settling and cooling systems, and no process wastewater is discharged to the environment.
Installation Progress

- Civil foundations: All major equipment foundations — kiln support stations, preheater tower, cooler, bag filter, and material handling structures — have been completed and verified against the manufacturer's elevation and alignment tolerances.
- Kiln shell erection: The rotary kiln shell sections have been delivered, aligned, and welded on-site under the supervision of Hongke's experienced installation engineers. Circumferential and longitudinal welds have been completed and inspected.
- Support station assembly: All three support stations — including tire rings, trunnion roller assemblies, thrust rollers, and bearing housings — have been installed and aligned. The girth gear and pinion have been meshed and adjusted.
- Preheater and cooler installation: The vertical preheater tower structure, push-rod feeding system, and cooler assembly have been erected and connected to the kiln.
- Bag filter and ductwork: The pulse-jet bag filter has been installed, and the main exhaust ductwork connecting the preheater, cooler, and material handling points to the filter is nearing completion.
- Electrical and control systems: Cable tray installation and cable pulling are in progress. The DCS control panel and field instruments are on-site and ready for connection.
The project remains on track for commissioning within the scheduled timeframe. Hongke Heavy Industry's commissioning team will be deployed to the site to conduct cold commissioning (mechanical and electrical checks), hot commissioning (first fire, heat-up, and feed introduction), and the final performance guarantee test run.
