Rotary Kiln Supporting Roller Replacement Steps

Rotary kiln is a common equipment for calcining lime, cement, metal minerals, etc., and is generally recognized in the industry. The supporting roller is an important structure in the support device of the rotary kiln, which is responsible for supporting the weight of the rotary kiln and controlling the direction of the rotary kiln cylinder to prevent it from moving up and down.


In actual use, when you find that the surface material of the supporting roller is peeled off in a large area, the shaft and the shoe are heated and drawn, irregular wear occurs, the supporting roller is cracked, the shaft slips, the bearing is broken, or the service life is too long to meet the conditions of smooth operation. , you should consider replacing the rollers.

1. Determine the plan.

When replacing the supporting roller of the rotary kiln, the maintenance plan should be determined according to the actual damage of the supporting roller. For example, if you encounter the situation that only one side of the supporting roller is damaged, you only need to consider replacing one side.


2. Preliminary preparation

In the preliminary preparation work, one is to prepare maintenance tools, such as jacks, inverted chains, etc., the other is to clean up the replacement site and remove the oil stains on the rollers, and the third is to find the center line for marking, and make marks on the base and foundation to ensure that The correct position can be found when replacing.


3. Cooling the kiln body

When the power is cut off, the kiln will be shut down. After the kiln body is cooled, place the jack under the wheel belt tightly. To prevent slippage, you can place a wooden board on the top, and then remove the heat insulation shed, supporting roller tile cover, cooling water pipe, and oil and tile temperature measurement lines. And other unnecessary parts, placed in a flat place in order to facilitate later installation.



4. Jack up the kiln body

The jack is located under the wheel belt, jack up the wheel belt, pay attention to the condition of the jack during the jacking process, stop the operation immediately once there is pressure leakage and sink, and continue after troubleshooting.


5. Remove the bolts

Remove the bolts connecting each part, it is recommended to save the number, so as not to forget the corresponding position during later installation. Then use an inverted chain or a jack to push the roller away and move it to a position where it is convenient for lifting.


6. Lift off the roller

Pull out the supporting roller and bearing seat, clean the supporting roller, release the lubricating oil, remove the dust and corrosion rust accumulated on the base for a long time, lift the supporting roller and bearing away with a crane, and place it in an open and flat position.



7. Cleanup Inspection

First, clean the supporting rollers, check the wear of the supporting rollers, and then clean the bearing seat. The inner cavity is cleaned with light diesel oil. After cleaning, pay attention to cover and dustproof. Pay attention to determine whether the spherical tile can still be used. If it cannot be used, remove it and replace it with a new tile of the same size. If it can be used, clean it and cover it with dust in the same way.


8. Replace the roller

Check whether the dimensions of the new rollers match, and measure the dimensions of the new rollers. Open the tile opening first, then scrape and grind the lining tile and the shaft, check the back of the tile, and install and fix it after confirming that it is correct. Then hoist the new roller onto the lining tile, and place it as gently and smoothly as possible so as not to hurt the base. Finally, check the position of the new supporting roller to ensure that the force of the new supporting roller is the same as that of the old supporting roller after replacement.


9. Handling the details

After installation, tighten the fixing bolts, pull the bearing seat back to its original position, install the oil spoon, add lubricating oil, connect the circulating water required for cooling, and install the heat insulation shed, water, and oil temperature measurement lines.


10. Inspection and acceptance

Rotate the kiln slowly, check the operation of the kiln body, check whether the oil film is normal, observe the clearance of the oil spoon, bearing seat, oil spray pan and other parts, and the contact between the thrust plate, the bush and the shaft to ensure the normal operation of the rotary kiln. Finally, the site is cleaned up and the replacement work is over.
